Member Relations
The esteemed Government of the Republic of Namibia has sent its Membership Application to the AARDO Secretariat on 11 July 2016 for becoming full member of AARDO, with effect from 1st July 2016. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of AARDO, the Government of Namibia has been admitted into the Organization as its full member.

With the admission of Namibia, the membership of the Organization has now gone up to thirty two - sixteen from Africa, fifteen from Asia and one associate member from Asia, namely, Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC), Republic of Korea.

AARDO adopts different approaches such as correspondence, personal contacts, utilising its presence at the workshops, seminars, international forums, etc., to encourage prospective member countries in the African-Asian region to come into its folds. In line with this policy, during the period under review, AARDO invited the esteemed Governments of the Republic of Angola, State of Kuwait, Republic of Uzbekistan and Republic of Turkey to join AARDO as its distinguished members.

In order to keep prospective member country governments acquainted with the policies and programmes of the Organization, the AARDO Secretariat continued sending them AARDO publications like Newsletter, Annual Report, African-Asian Journal of Rural Development and other informative literature. Further, the Secretary General paid courtesy calls on the heads of diplomatic missions of prospective member countries in New Delhi in order to persuade them to impress upon their governments to consider joining AARDO as its members.
