Affordable Technology Menu (ATM)

AARDO has provided a prominent place for rural technology dissemination for which an ecosystem, aiming at raising awareness about importance and application of rural technologies has been conceived to assist member countries in achieving UNSDGs and AU 2063. The potentials for creating and adapting innovative, cost-effective technologies in rural areas of Africa and Asia are substantial, and their utilization is vital for resolving forthcoming challenge. Appropriate and affordable technologies are viewed as crucial tools for facilitating rural transformation, enhancing resilience and achieving growth.

As part of its endeavours, AARDO has compiled a dynamic database of inventive technologies known as the "Affordable Technology Menu" (ATM), which is categorized into three verticals, namely, Basket of Innovative Technologies/Startups (BITS), technologies developed by government-sponsored academic/research institutions and commercially available technologies.

During the triennium 2025-2027, AARDO will continue to focus on transfer of affordable and innovative technologies/knowledge through HRD programmes, ATM, act as a platform to bring innovators and member countries together, collaborate with institutions/universities developing innovative/affordable technologies and technology exposure sessions.

The esteemed Institutes/Universities are requested to consider, sharing at this stage, a few Innovative and disruptive technologies in the field of Agricultural and Rural Development as well as technologies available with government sponsored academic and research institutions, preferably in the format of the attached document, to form part of verticals (I), and (II) in the proposed Affordable Technology Menu (ATM).
